Nigeria of my dream in the next two decades.

Year 12  (2020/2021)

Nigeria is the giant of Africa and the most populous black nation in the world. It is a country blessed with abundant minerals.; Bitumen, Coal, Iron Ore, Lead, Zinc and so much more. In spite of this abundant wealth however, a vast majority of the population still wallow in poverty.

I see Nigeria of my dream, a place where people suffer no more in the midst of plenty, a country where people thirst no more in the presence of water, where people feel neither hunger nor search for bread in a land that flows with milk and honey. I see a nation where the children of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody.

In the next two decades, I want Nigeria to be one of the top technologically developed countries in the world. We would have robots to replace humans in dangerous aspects like mining, space travelling, and so on. These robots would also make life more comfortable and safer. Imagine driving a car and the brakes suddenly stopped working, and you were about to crash into an oncoming vehicle but you were saved from a terrible road accident by an effective automation. These highly advanced machines would not just be on roads; they would be in public and private boarders to help make Nigeria a safer place.

In the next twenty years, I want Nigeria to be a place of peace, freedom and unity. Nigeria would be peaceful in the sense that banditry and kidnapping as we see today would be history. Cases of human made death, banditry, inter- tribal wars and vandalism would be reduced to the barest minimum. A new dawn of hope and emancipation would set in. People would have a new sense of doing what is right; and security would have been doubled all over Nigeria. Our nation would also be united and work together especially in making decisions for the country. The government would not just make decisions on their own but involved each and every citizen.

Democracy would not just be theoretical phenomenon but a practical one as well. With all these put in place, we will, not doubt be in harmony with one another. Furthermore, in the next twenty years, I want Nigeria’s illiteracy rate to drop to zero. By then everybody in Nigeria would have at least a secondary – level education. The educational system would have been stable and the government institutions would be a better quality and the learning environment in these institutions would be more conducive. The school paraphernalia for both the tutors and the learners would be of quality materials, and be made readily available. Hard working tutors would be handsomely rewarded as done in the other segments of the labour force. Salary of workers, irrespective of their parastatals would be paid regularly as and when due. The joy of a new nation would fill the hearts of the citizenry.

In addition, Nigerians would care a lot more about the environment in the next two decades. The recycling process would have a systematic order. A machine would have been invented that recycles all materials, thereby preventing ozone layer depletion and other environmental problems.

As much cleaner energy would be used by that time instead of using petroleum which causes serious problems. It would help make Nigeria less of a safety hazard. The clean energy produced would be constant that is, no power outage, no fluctuation, everything would be smooth sailing.

In another development, Nigeria would have fully developed its astronomical sector. It has always been my dream to become an astronomer. In the next twenty years my space team and I would have already found another civilization far away from milky way galaxy. We would also be the first ones to land on a star. We would as well go into a black hole, as we all know the people who have tried entering a black hole were never heard from again. But as for my team and me we would build an inter dimensional communicator that helps us communicate with each other no matter where or how far we are. This venture would answer so many question posed by scientists all over the world.

It is true that Rome was not built in a day. Our dear country, Nigeria has passed through a lot of trying moments likewise palatable ones. Even when some of our leaders were and are ruling with ecstasy on a red carpet party when the entire nation is burning in a hail, I still give praise to the pathfinder and navigator for prosperous Nigeria and to  God almighty who keeps the vision mission of my great Nigeria alive for us to achieve a greater nation.

The question may be asked why I choose the next two decades. Beautiful question. The next two decades would be the appropriate speculated time when my contemporaries and I would be at the helms of affairs of this our great nation Nigeria. The present set of generation of leaders would have left the stage.
